A Lesson to Amateur Photographers

The most important lesson to learn about enjoying photography is to learn how to accept other's criticisms of your work. The more criticisms you have, more lessons you may learn about your photography.  Taking out the factor of those people who just comment to berate your work, you may learn a thing or two from your friends who have had more time with the camera.

Learn from them and accept the critiques that they may have about your photography.

Here's a little shout out to Robert Peña, my mentor and best friend at POD Studio Productions. He taught me a valuable lesson about trying. Try to be more than your best, and not settle for anything less than that. By accepting the critiques of others, you not only improve your photography and experiences, you will also build more rapport with those who have constructively criticized you.

So, good luck to all those beginning photographers. Don't let failures discourage you in your passion. Learn from them, and move on.

A Day at the Beach with Robert Beltran + 1.16.2011

This was the official photoshoot of MOTION with  a model, and here featured is Robert Beltran. We went through a couple of text messages before I could persuade him to have a pictorial with me. He comes from Baguio, so he had to travel all the way down to the beach for the pictorial. He didn't even break a single sweat during the entire shoot!

Walked along the beach for the last part, got my feet wet, and the rest are in the frames.

Mark + Irish

This is my first ever formal video edit using Adobe Premier. It was only an experiment at first to know the ways around the program, but it got me so hooked, I may consider doing more in the future. Well, here is the "experiement" and I hope you guys like it.

We walked all around San Fernando City, La Union and as you may guess, the video has a lot of walking around in it. The soundtrack is Apologize by One Republic.

thinking outside of the frame

I have always been a cheap person. Leaning towards the brands that overtime would pay itself back in low maintenance, in basic utility, and most of all user friendliness. Hence I use Apple computers. Not cheap you say? There are so many reasons to list why I use an Apple computer, but I don't want to start a flame war on the first post of my new blog. Instead, I would like to direct your attention back to the fact that I'm cheap.

Starting this blog was a way for me to save on the amount of paper that I would eventually use if I chose to write this instead on old fashioned material, in the form of a published book. The amount of material I calculated would cost overtime more than the upkeep of my computer and the electricity that I would pay while using it. Hence this blog.

It's also a great way to showcase my portfolio in Photography, and also a way for me to jot down my experience, as long as an internet connection is available.

So, let the adventure begin. pack up your bags and suitcases, and come travel with me. Pack light, because the road is rough, the path winding, and the horizon full of surprises.
